Just wanted to share a recent drawing that I've done with you.

It's a crazy thing, how things turn out. I began with an analytic drawing of a building and a tree, and with shading I discover a face, and before you know it the sky has darkened and the moon is beaming high up.

I've also been listening to Akira Kosemura and Hakura Nakamura's Afterglow album. Azure and Afterglow would probably be my favorites. Youtube doesn't do them justice though. Best to listen to the original, but here it is anyway.

It is now 2:51PM, and I am just leisurely hanging out at a nearby Timmies. Just Murakami and I.

Just this week I had some time to drop by the Japanese library, to pay my late fines, return some books and to pick up new ones. Wasn't really sure what I was looking for. As usual I am lost when visiting my favorite places, but I would always end up finding something interesting to make the trip worth it.

Currently I am reading Murakami's memoir,"What I talk about when I talk about running". I'm not usually into memoirs, but thought that I'd give it a shot. Right now he is going on about his experience of running a jazz bar soon after college, and about enjoying a Yakult Swallows game on a grassy field.

It feels like I'm having a wonderful conversation with an old friend as I sit alone with my medium steeped tea. On a side note, I think I'm growing out of double doubles. Tasting nothing but sugar And cream. There are days where it is all that I need though.

I am writing more than I ever do. Maybe Murakami is influencing me, or that it's extra toasty in here today and the sun is beaming intensely on my arm.

I hope your day is equally as interesting. That is all.

Here are a couple of finished class assignments that have been keeping me busy lately. We're doing quite a number of portraits this semester. The first one is of Janelle Monae, and the second one is Hitchcock.

I particularly enjoyed working on Janelle as it was my first time really spending a great amount of time on illustrator, and that it paid off.

More will be more to come. :)

Hello hello,

I hope you end up enjoying this daily that I whipped up for today. I'd dare to say that it might just be one of my favorites out of my dailies. I've been experimenting a lot with Illustrator and Photoshop recently. A little excited to see what my work will look like by the middle of the year if I keep this up. ;)

Please tell me this green drives you crazy as well. Yum.

Ah, it's been a while since I've posted. Trying the best I can to keep up with my dailies and with everything else.
Never enough time, but no excuses. :)

Some small updates of awesomeness:
1. My succulent is losing more of its' leaves today.
2. Purchased some clay. May be making a bunch of little rabbits.
3. Will be starting to make more rabbit dolls some time next month.
4. Creating a playlist just for you.

I am always lost in thought when I ride streetcars. I am a window seat.

Hello hello,

Here are some findings from my treasure hunting on my 4-day Montreal trip with my two loves.

The trip consisted of a lot of mapping, 24hour cafes, old movies on television and side ways sleeping. And of course endless wining and dining.

I love traveling. It's a wonder how many things you can do in a day if only you'd try. Though I spent a lot of time just sitting there taking things in. It was new years eve and I wasn't even in a rush to finish any resolutions or to really count down. The best start to the new year. :)

I can say that it's glad to be back home though. Must be something related to knowing exactly where you are. Or knowing that food is actually cheaper in Chinatown. Unlike Montreal -.-.

There's been quite a lot of my plate these few weeks, with the end of the semester and the holidays approaching. I'll be trying my best to stay on top of my dailies !

I've also been drooling all over this Etsy store Pomadour that sells all kinds of Japanese goodies, from magazines and books to fabrics and little trinkets. The books are what I've got my eyes on though. Especially the Come Home! collection and the little craft books.

They are a little too pricey for me, so I've just been browsing through the previews and doing some drawings of the ones I love. it's so beautiful that it kind of breaks my heart.

Japan in a few years with a luggage just for the books. ;)

Anyways, I found The Work Room on Queen St. has some of them available, so I might go check out the prices some time this week and maybe pick up one. or two.
